The interiors are quite striking and there is a great contemporary art collection that is always being added to on the walls. The Lobby Scene here is pretty good and there are also multiple restaurants to eat at, an incredible gym and Six Senses Spa complex.
It might be one of the region’s most prestigious hotels, but the Alpina’s relatively humble appearance does a grand job of belying its five-star luxury. Perched on a hilltop above Gstaad’s main street, the charming Alpine building blends antique barn wood and Ringgenberg limestone to great effect. Rooms are abundant with wood panelling, rustic furnishings and subtle details such as lamps in the design of Swiss cowbells. The hotel’s amenities include three restaurants, indoor and outdoor pools, Six Senses spa and 14-seat cinema with a vintage popcorn machine.
