Elizabeth Street Café

A modern upgrade of the traditional French-Vietnamese café, this South Austin all-dayer is pretty enough to attract the city’s beautiful people, but has more than enough substance to keep everyone coming back again and again. During the day the draw is the exquisite boulangerie treats (eclairs, macarons, almond croissants) and via a fine weekend brunch it morphs into a cosy, candlelit spot for punchy cocktails and Vietnamese sharing dishes. The must-order is the bánh mì, a house-made baguette loaded with zingy vegetables, herbs and various creative fillings.
