Introducing MR PORTER FIT & FIX: Extend The Life Of Your Clothes In Three Easy Steps

When we think about our personal style, there are always a few items of clothing that immediately come to mind – the jeans we wear day in, day out, perhaps, our favourite cardigan, the coat we had to hustle from our parents’ wardrobe years ago or our first luxury purchase.
Now, no matter how worn they may be, you won’t have to let go of these items. Extending the life of your clothes has just become easier. A year on from the launch of MR PORTER RESELL, our premium clothes and sneakers resale service powered by Reflaunt, we have teamed up with the on-demand tailoring platform The Seam to launch MR PORTER FIT & FIX, our very own repair and alterations service.
Buying better and making our clothes last longer is part of our shared vision for responsible style. A study by Wrap, the Waste and Resources Action Programme, has shown that extending the life of an item of clothing by just nine months decreases its carbon, waste and water footprints by up to 30 per cent each. “We’re dedicated to shaping an industry where the experience of fashion isn’t just about consuming, but about participating in a culture of care,” says Ms Layla Sargent, founder of The Seam.
